Roc Search are working closely with a Tech Consultancy who are looking for an IT Support Engineer who has experience working in a High Performance Computing environment. Our client delivers end-user IT support and infrastructure hosting & monitoring via their Service Desk.

They seek a qualified IT support engineer with experience supporting high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure environments, commonly used for machine learning or artificial intelligence data solutions. Candidates need to be outgoing and motivated individuals to fulfil the commitments of this service.

This is an IT support role that will cover several areas including:
- IT Administration of HPC infrastructure environments and technology
- Troubleshooting why scheduled tasks are not performing properly
- Client-facing consulting projects and recommendations
- Managing the client-facing service desk and resolving requests that come into the Service Desk

The ideal candidate will have:

- 2+ years of experience administering HPC infrastructures and technologies
- Experience configuring the Infiniband networking protocols
- Experience with administering and managing scheduled job queues and the Slurm task scheduler
- Experience working with GPU compute technology like Nvidia CUDA
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) technologies like NICE DCV/Amazon DCV
- Experience using uptime monitoring solutions
- Experience managing Microsoft Office 365, Azure Active Directory environments, and Microsoft Teams including voice calling integration
- Experience using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) to manage user devices
- Experience with managing and administering Linux, Juniper, MacOS, and Windows, including virtualization and scripting

As a bonus, you may have:

- Experience using Jira Service Desk for managing service desk queues
- Experience using Terraform scripting and Azure Resource Manager templates to automate infrastructure creation
- Understanding of how to leverage Lets Encrypt for SSL management
- Experience managing MongoDB, Azure SQL, or other cloud-based database systems
- Experience with SiteGround, WordPress, Okta, Jira Software, Confluence, Site 24x7.
