Infrastructure Engineer

🔧 Role Overview
The client has a significant backlog of infrastructure work as part of their preparations for Cyber Essentials certification. The scope includes:
* Remediation of vulnerabilities (e.g. "X server has this vulnerability" - engineer must investigate and resolve)
* Multiple updates and upgrades across the infrastructure estate
* Estimated project duration: 5 months
* Onsite work alongside the infrastructure ops team

💼 Ideal Candidate
An experienced, senior-level Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background across:
* Microsoft stack (including M365, Exchange, Citrix)
* HP and Microsoft server infrastructure
* Vulnerability management - understanding risks, required updates, and mitigation
* Experience with legacy systems and potentially unusual/complex applications
* Familiarity with change control processes and participation in change advisory boards
* Comfortable pushing updates (e.g. Windows 10) and working closely with:
o Internal users (via infrastructure ops)
o Vendors to drive resolutions
This role is not about redesigning infrastructure but clearing a backlog efficiently and confidently.
